Why we created medmatic
Medmatic was inspired by the circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic. We aim to spread reliable information about different diseases and provide volunteering opportunities to our members. Anyone can view this information and contribute from home, which is what makes Medmatic unique. Our volunteering opportunities are both virtual and in-person so members can give back to society and gain exposure to the medical world.
Our mission
To promote awareness for illnesses and reduce the stigma around health conditions through fundraising, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and volunteering. According to the CDC, late-stage incidence rates for colorectal cancer range from 51.0 to 86.5 while late-stage incidence rates for breast cancer ranged from 92.2 to 132.1 across the United States. A large number of deaths as a result of these diseases are a result of late screening. We at Medmatic believe that spreading awareness for diseases not only reduces stigma but also encourages early screening, which is how we can make a difference.
